The video sharing site of Google, YouTube is predicted to release paid service on channels this week for around 50 specialist video channels, reports Financial Times. It is predicted that these channels would be priced at $ 1.99 per month and could provide original material including television films and shows.
YouTube has not verified this report though it says that it was planning on creating a platform depending on registration to provide greater material to users in addition to developing income generating opportunities for content producers, beyond its current rentals and advertising-based models.
The website’s plans for paid content were first released out in late Jan when it approached several movie manufacturers and asked them to publish applications for developing for-pay “channels.”
