Today, during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Interior Affairs held under the chair of Senator Talha Mehmood, Federal Information Minister Pervez Rashid said that all Mobile phone companies were equally responsible for the bloodshed being carried out in the nation through blast explosions.
Pervez Rashid said that CEO of cellular phone Companies, whose SIMs are used in any such explosions should be arrested and tried under anti-terrorism laws. Director Common NADRA informed the panel that voters’ record information was also being used for obtaining illegal SIMs.
Pervez Rashid said that finger prints would be taken and compared with NADRA data for issuance of mobile SIMs. Director General National Crisis Management informed the panel that many cell mobile phones were being used without IMEI number in the state.
The committee chairman expressed anger over the absence of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and said the minister never bothered to attend the meeting since he took oath of his office.
