LAHORE: Police have submitted the challan in court in the case pertaining to cricket Umar Akmal’s alleged assault of a traffic warden.
Police said Umar Akmal has been formally charged for the brawl with the traffic warden. SP Investigation said that the challan against Umar Akmal was submitted in the court yesterday.
Police said the 23-year-old Akmal did not stop at a traffic signal in the commercial Firdous market area in Lahore, and later engaged in a scuffle with a traffic warden.
Akmal was arrested and an FIR was registered for “obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions, rash driving or riding on a public way and assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty”.
Eyewitnesses said that the scuffle between cricketer Umar Akmal and traffic warden had started on warden’s demand of the papers of the car Umar Akmal was driving.
