It appears that transition process of the new government is still going on as the ‘record’ of most important segments of the federal government is not fully updated yet.
The Ministry of Interior, the most important element of government of Pakistan, still shows Malik Mohammad Habib Khan as its existing minister on its website. Someone at the ‘software wing’ of ministry could only upload the picture of Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan but didn’t bother to remove the name of ex-minister Mohammad Habib Khan who served in the caretaker setup.
Not only this, the name of secretary interior is also wrongly put with no picture in the slot. The website shows the name Muhammad Siddiq Akbar Khawaja whereas the existing federal secretary is Qamar Zaman Chaudhary. A similar blunder can be seen on another spot of the same website as shown in the below mentioned image.
Irony of the fact is, Ministry never bothered to update its status on Wikipedia where still the name of Rehman Malik is written as ‘existing’ Interior Minister.
Someone may call it a mistake but we shouldn’t forget that there are people in the ministry (software wing) dedicated for such tasks just for keeping the record correct.
Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan who is known for being vocal on the floor of the house, will need to streamline the issues on urgent basis as people access ministry’s website from all over the world, especially those who are interested to get basic information with reference to passports and immigration, a hot topic in Pakistan.
