PTCL to reward Younas Sheikh for his help in Warid deal

The Chief Commercial Officer of Warid Telecom, Younas Sheikh is all set to be a part of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) in the future. This was revealed by his acquaintances who are conscious of the growth.

Younas Sheikh was the member of team who recently visited UAE with reference to possible sell out of Warid Telecom.

Interestingly, a news popped up in the international media at the same time quoting Chief Executive of PTCL Walid Irshaid as one of the parties willing to buy Warid Telecom.

Although, the outcome of these talks are yet to be made public by Warid but according to sources, Younas has been assisting PTCL management for the exchange of valuable information during past few months helping latter to grab Warid in a better way viable to PTCL.

Sources have confirmed that as a reward of helping out PTCL, Mr. Younas will be appointed as head of sales, a position, which is currently being watched by Furqan Qureshi, an old teammate at PTCL who recently replaced Naveed Saeed on the position of SEVP Commercial.

An official of the Warid Telecom was not available to comment on the situation.

Younas Sheikh had joined Warid Telecom in October last year after leaving Ufone. ‘Sales’ is the area of his expertise but unfortunately, the record at Ufone and even at Warid, does not speak of his skill.
