Indian security agencies responsible for cyber security have intercepted a communication that hints a possible cyber-attack by Pakistani hackers on Indian information infrastructure in August, Indian Express reports. The newspaper claims that hackers are hiring cyber criminals from all over the world for launching attacks on Indian facilities.
According to the report, the non-state hacker groups including ‘Pakistan Cyber Eaglez’, ‘X-HaXor’ and ‘xL3gi0n’ exist and are jointly involved in the planning of future attacks Official of an Indian security agency has claimed that cyber-attacks on Indian facilities is to avenge the hack of Pakistani Army website, the Kashmir issue and Indian involvement in Afghanistan.
The report also claims that Pakistani and Chinese hacking group are working jointly to carry out such brutal attacks.
In recent years, Indian government has spent heavily for establishing its cyber wings that are responsible for breaching cyber security and defacing the websites of Pakistani and Chinese organizations.
There are certain cyber groups in Pakistan who are consistently warning Pakistani organizations (by hacking their websites) to improve their cyber security so that no other country could benefit from their weaknesses. One such example is recent hacking of Allied Bank Website by Xploiters, a hacking group that was also able to enter into the systems of HBL and Soneri Bank few days back.
Pakistan and India will celebrate their respective Independence days in August and cyber wings of security agencies in both the countries are on high alert to make arrangements for stopping and combating cyber-attacks on sensitive facilities.
