Broadband internet subscriber base of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) will keep growing at an average rate of about 8.5% per year for the next three years.
According to a analyzer, after several years of decrease, PTCL’s fixed-line usage increased by 2% in 2012, mostly due to the fact that fixed-line is a requirement for its broadband internet internet services.
“We project the share of the broadband segment in total revenues to climb to 25% by 2013, with an assumed subscriber base of 1.65 million,” he said
The PTCL has the biggest copper infrastructure growing to almost every city, town and town of Pakistan. The network has over 6 million PSTN lines set up across the country with more than 3 million working. The set up capacity of broadband internet is approximately 1.4 million ports spread across cities and places. The PTCL is going for a strong return, and is doing so mainly through variation of its income sources as well as an increasingly effective variation of more recent technology.
