PESHAWAR: According to Express news the Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa (K-P) govt has ordered the collection of data from internet cafes in the province.
The KP home ministry had written to the Inspector General Police (IGP) of K-P asking him to keep information and records of internet cafe users and recommended the set up of invisible cameras in these cafe.
This was done after the KP minister obtained news of a rise in harmful e-mails regarding extortion and kidnapping for ransom in the region.
Owners of the net cafe said that they do not have the required resources to set up cameras. After getting data of net cafe from the home minister, the Police started an research into their activities.
On 3rd October, Sindh Provincial Information Minister Sindh Sharjeel Memon said viber, Skype and other network decided to stop for 3 months, while displaying arms immediately across the province have been banned.
