The nation is observing Eid-ul-Azha, which is all about the spirit of sacrifice, with religious fervour today (Wednesday) by slaughtering animals in the name of Allah following the Sunnah of Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
Meanwhile, areas of the North , Afghan refugees in tribe areas and several regions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), such as areas of the Peshawar, observed Eid on Wednesday.The Afghan refugees provided Eid prayers at five open places in Peshawar town and especially prayed for the protection of Pakistan.
Eid prayers were also provided in Abbottabad, Mardan, Bannu and other regions of the KP besides Mohmand , Khyber Agency and other tribal areas. Sacrificial animals were slaughtered in observance of the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
The individuals in Mohmand Agency observed Eid a day earlier as a symbol of Muslim Unity as Saudi Arabia also observed Eid on Tuesday.
Local clerics from the Deobandi school observed Eid with Saudi Arabia after the Taliban in 2008 advised residents to merge in spiritual issues. However, clerics from the Barelvi school made the decision to observed Eid with the rest of Pakistan.
Majority of governmental and spiritual personalities, such as government and provincial ministers, will enjoy Eid-ul-Azha in their regional cities, while former chief executive Pervez Musharraf will enjoy Eid in jail.
