Motorola Efforts to Make a Detachable Smartphone to Last Forever

Soon there will be more mobile phones than people, and every day more than 1.5 million new Android devices are activated. Together with iOS devices and Windows Phones the smart phone market is growing every day. All over the world people are buying new phones and upgrading to the latest model.

Some of these phones are hopefully resold or handed down to extend their lifetime but the fact still remains. All these discarded smart phones leads to a huge amount of electronic waste. And considering the time-rate before a phone is considered obsolete, this amount of electronic waste will continue to grow at exponential rates.

There has to be sustainable solution? Or at least a way to increase the lifetime of each phon

e and help slow down the rate that we produce electronic waste.
