Mobile Phone Service Will Not be Stopped on Election Day

As usual mobilephone services are always stopped on any important day but Mobilephone services are not going to get suspended on Election Day, told Ishtiaq Ahmed, Secretary Election Commission, while speaking with press recently.

Mobile-Services-Suspended-in-Pakistan[1]There were limited guesses about the suspension of mobilephone services at least in very sensitive areas of the country on election day, i.e. May 11, 2013. However, Secretary Election Commission turns out to be a relief for telecommunications operators and the cell phone customers.

PPPP lead, past govt, had intensely used the mobile service suspensions to tackle with the terrorism but it appears that the temporary govt has taken a different and somewhat effective route by not blocking mobile phone services.

It maybe remembered here that experts are forecasting fear interruption on Election day.It benefits referring to here that cellphone services after leaving of Mr. Rehman Malik are obstructed only once and that too in Lahore for a limited time period.

Almost all mobile companies reported huge failures in their last one fourth (of 2012) due to forced service suspensions and other regulatory pressures from the government.
