LDI Operators are now looking to new government for support on ICH

It seems that the LDI (Long Distance International) providers are wanting to prevent the huge penalty Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) enforced on them regarding development of theInternational Clearing House (ICH).ccp-ich-incoming-international[1]

LDI operators and PTCL in particular will be looking towards the new govt to returning them to be able to entice financial commitment mainly the deal of $800 million on the consideration of awaiting privatization quantity and different development tasks.

Even though it would be challenging for re-establishment of ICH or any such other contract since CCP annulled the contract with backing from the Supreme Court, LDI operators might be looking into discovering a way out though policy decision of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT).

The new govt may not be looking to go against the judgment of Supreme Court and execution of the program that would harm offshore Pakistanis but the charge on LDIs may be waived off or postponed for the quite a while interval with the participation of policy-makers.

As per the judgment of CCP, backed by SC, ICH contract had been annulled and enforced a large charge of 7.5 % of yearly revenues of each LDI for violation of Sec 4 of the Competition Act, 2010.
