The Peshawar high court bench, headed by Chief Justice Dost Muhammad, was proceeding with the petition filed to unblock YouTube. The petition requested the Peshawar High Court to instruct the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Ministry of Information Technology (MoIT) to lift the ban on YouTube for benefit of the public at large.

The bench said that the authorities should take immediate steps to have the blasphemous content removed from social media sites as it would ignite hatred and cause chaos in the society.

The court did not specify the exact names of the social media sites but it seems relevant that the site in question was YouTube.
