Yahoo and BT join with Google to fight child pornography

child-porn-fight-google-yahoo-btIn a further attempt to curb child pornography on the internet, Yahoo! and BT have joined team with Google. An agreement made in Whitehall summit between ministers and representatives of major internet companies, it was decided that analysts would be recruited to unearth and delete illegal pictures instead of waiting for complaints to be made to police.

As of now the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) acts as a response team, monitoring the internet for unlawful activities, acting only on complaints. The IWF will be given an additional £1 million from the industry in order to enable it to take a fresh proactive approach to find child pornography.
