SC moved against extra tax on mobile phone

201351717412_samaa_tv[1]The Superior Court (SC) has been moved against the impose of additional tax on mobile services. The applicant requested the court to issue a stay order, preventing the government from collecting tax from consumers.

The contents of the application said:

“The federal finance minister has said the tax deducted from mobile phone consumers will be returned to them through their tax returns, which is a gruesome joke with the people because a majority of mobile phone users are not tax payers,”.

It is referring to that out of 41.5 % of the amount charged, only seven % would go to mobile companies as service charges, whereas only 58 % of the complete total recharge would be transferred to the consumers’ accounts.
