Motorola Officially Announces Moto G

Motorola has finally unveiled the Moto G, a new handset that ships with a nice set of specifications at a very affordable price point.

The Moto G ships with a 4.5 inch 720p HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, 1GB RAM, 5 megapixel camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, Gorilla Glass 3, waterproof nanocoating and more.

Of course, you can also expect the Moto G to ship with the flagship features such as Active Display and others that are found on the MotoX. Out of the box, the Moto G will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but Motorola has promised that the device will receive Android 4.4 KitKat by January 2014.  Other features on the handset include a removable back plate that can be replaced with customized back covers.

The 8GB Moto G will ship in the US for only $179 off-contract, with the 16GB version running for $199. Motorola is offering up a handset that not only will offer up a nice experience in terms of speed and performance but it will cost less than most smartphones on-contract.
